Abstract

The World Wide Web (www), or the Internet, is an essential educational tool for stroke survivors, caregivers and family members, rehabilitation nurses, and other healthcare providers. An immense amount of information about stroke is available on the Web, from its prevention to dealing with its effects. Anyone can publish anything about stroke on the Web. This article presents criteria for evaluating Internet resources and identifies numerous reliable Web resources related to stroke, along with suggestions about how the information from these Web sites can be helpful to both public and professional consumers.
