J Br Menopause Soc. 2003 Jun;9(2):75-9. doi: 10.1258/136218003100322233.

Abstract

Urinary incontinence is a common and distressing condition which, whilst not life threatening, is known to cause considerable morbidity. Causation is multifactorial, although many risk factors have been identified. The purpose of this review is to provide a critical overview of the epidemiological evidence when considering risk factors for urinary incontinence in women.
