Can efavirenz be taken in the morning?

Scand J Infect Dis. 2006;38(11-12):1089-91. doi: 10.1080/00365540600794386.

Abstract

Efavirenz is dosed once daily, and is generally administered in the evening owing to its central nervous system side-effects. This study assessed the tolerability of switching to morning dosing of efavirenz. Of the 49 patients included, 24 chose to continue morning dosing. Morning dosing of efavirenz may result in fewer side-effects and improved adherence for some patients.
