Abstract

Undiagnosed hyperthyroidism has an estimated prevalence in the general population of 3.4 percent. Without adequate treatment, Graves' disease can lead to significant morbidity and result in potentially fatal conditions such as tachyarrhythmia induced heart failure or thyrotoxic crisis.
