Abstract

Repeated glucose tolerance (GT) determinations were carried out at various intervals (under 3 years--I, from 3 to 6 years--II, from 6 to 9 years--III, and in 9 and more years--IV) in 964 women on free diet and free regimen. The initial character of GT (normal, suspicious, diabetic) and the duration of intervals between the examinations (I, II, III, IV) determiner its change in repeated examinations. The more pronounced the GT disturbances during the first examination and the longer the intervals between the examinations--the more frequently were GT disturbances of suspicious and diabetic type, and also the manifest diabetes mellitus detected.
