Copper and ceruloplasmin levels in serum of women with breast cancer

Indian J Med Sci. 1998 May;52(5):184-7.

Abstract

40 cases of breast malignancy constituted the study group and 10 sex matched formed the control grp. Serum level of copper was estimated by atomic absorption photometry and ceruloplasmin was done by Houchin's method. The study group showed significant hypercupremia and increased level of serum ceruloplosmin. It was postulated that levels copper and ceruloplasmin may help in prognosis & diagnosis of disease.
