Unilateral atypical retinal pigment epitheliopathy associated with serous retinal detachment

Ann Ophthalmol. 1992 Feb;24(2):75-7.

Abstract

We treated a young patient with unilateral gray-yellow subretinal lesions associated with bullous retinal detachment in the posterior pole. Angiography revealed the presence of multiple areas of subretinal pigment epithelial pooling of the dye. It is rare to find an association between acute inflammation of the retinal pigment epithelium and sensory retinal detachment.
