QA and QC processes in imaging

Radiol Manage. 2010 Jan-Feb;32(1):40-5.

Abstract

Ensuring that every unit achieves acceptable standards of quality at all times underlies every process of an imaging facility. This article summarizes the key elements of a QA program broken down by modality. Myriad oversight agencies have devised appropriate standards, which are readily available to imaging administrators and others responsible for carrying out QA procedures. QA/QC programs are not just about equipment functionality, but are also about safe working conditions for staff and providing a high level of patient care.
