[Clinical report of six cases of vaginal sarcomas]

Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the clinical characteristics and treatment methods of primary sarcoma of the vagina.

Method: Retrospectively analysed the clinical data of 6 patients with vaginal sarcoma including 2 leiomyosarcoma, 1 angiosarcoma, 1 lymphoma, 1 alveolar soft tissue sarcoma and 1 rhabdomyosarcoma.

Results: The age of the patients was 7-52 year-old. 3 of them were treated by local resection combined with chemotherapy and radiotherapy and alive over 5-year. The rest 3 died of this disease within two years and a half after diagnosis.

Conclusion: Local resection combined with chemotherapy and radiotherapy is the main therapeutic approach for vaginal sarcoma.
