Severe exacerbation of chronic active hepatitis B during interferon alpha therapy

Digestion. 1992;52(1):61-4. doi: 10.1159/000200940.

Abstract

The case of a 52-year-old male with chronic active type B hepatitis in whom severe exacerbation of liver disease was associated with interferon alpha treatment is described. It seems that patients with very active forms of chronic hepatitis B may experience severe and symptomatic exacerbation of liver disease during interferon treatment.
