Cerebral amyloid angiopathy and moyamoya disease

Abstract

The incidence, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and management of cerebral hemorrhage from amyloid angiopathy and moyamoya disease are reviewed. Particular attention is given to pathophysiologic mechanisms producing cerebral hemorrhage in these conditions, the diagnosis based on characteristic CT and angiographic appearances, and the role of surgery in comprehensive management.
