Correlation between arterial blood gas and CT volumetry in patients with SARS-CoV-2 in the emergency department

Int J Infect Dis. 2020 Aug:97:233-235. doi: 10.1016/j.ijid.2020.06.033. Epub 2020 Jun 15.

Abstract

  1. The severity of SARS-CoV-2 patients is difficult to quickly assess in the ED.

  2. The ABG test is a quick and easy tool that can help identify more severe patients.

  3. CT cannot be used on all suspected SARS-CoV-2 infected patients admitted in ED.

  4. The CT volumetry correlates well with the values of severity reported by the ABG test.
