Radiographic features of gout in the foot

J Foot Surg. 1987 Sep-Oct;26(5):434-9.

Abstract

The radiographic findings associated with gout have been widely reported since their initial description by Huber in 1896 (1). This review will describe the characteristic alterations associated with involvement of the foot by gout, as well as several less common manifestations of the disease at this site. Brief consideration is also given to the radiographic differential diagnosis of gouty arthritis affecting the foot.
