Demonstration With Three-Dimensional Volumetric Magnetic Resonance Sequences of Deep Peroneal Nerve Compression on Os Intermetatarseum Syndrome

Am J Phys Med Rehabil. 2021 Aug 1;100(8):e116-e117. doi: 10.1097/PHM.0000000000001664.

Abstract

The os intermetatarseum is a rare accessory bone of the foot. It is commonly asymptomatic, as are other such accessory bones of the foot. Nevertheless, when it becomes symptomatic, it can cause "os intermetatarseum syndrome." Reported here is a case of os intermetatarseum syndrome, which is extremely rarely seen. To the best of the authors' knowledge, there are very few cases of os intermetatarseum syndrome in the literature.
