Chemical dependency among nurses: are policies adequate?

Nurs Manage. 1995 May;26(5):52, 54, 56.

Abstract

A study examines the number of chemically dependent nurses discovered in both large and small healthcare facilities; the number of organizations reporting and retaining these nurses; and the number of formal back-to-work agreements. Measures to enforce policies, ensure safety, enhance recovery and alleviate relapse must be included in any employee assistance program.
